In normal use and condition an under floor safe should have a little “rattle” in the door when you shake the handle about. (see at 55 secs in) All these safes are better if used every few months. Over years either corrosion can cause problems and/or like this one, normal dust and dirt builds up in the small gap around the door. The thicker door and higher security, then the worse this can be. Even if this customer had the key and had it unlocked the mechanism ok, this one would not have turned in the slightest due to cementing action of compacted debris.

We have years of experience working on these safes and were able to open it without drilling or damage. The lock was changed to provide new keys and once serviced it worked easily.

Keep your safe in use, if it starts to corrode then the quicker we get to it the better.

Keep everything stored in an under floor safe in waterproof container or multiple zip seal bags. This will keep everything clean and dry in case of burst pipes, spilt beer or locksmiths drowning the door in WD40!
