Doesn’t matter where the dial is set when you start. Using an example combination of 10, 20, 30, 40 just substitute your numbers in place.
Stop EXACTLY as soon as it lines up the last time with each number. If you go more than half an increment past with any of the numbers then you have to start again dialling five times to 10.
Turn clockwise until 10 lines up with the crowsfoot mark at 12 o’clock position – count one – keep turning clockwise until the fifth time that 10 lines up, stop exactly there and then reverse dialling direction so Turn anticlockwise, count one as soon as 20 lines up with the 12 o’clock mark. Keep turning anticlockwise until 20 lines up exactly on the fourth time and then reverse dialling direction so Turn clockwise until 30 lines up – count one – keep turning clockwise until 30 lines up the third time. Then reverse dialling direction so Turn anticlockwise until 40 lines up with the mark at 12 o’clock and count one, keep turning anticlockwise until 40 lines up the second time then reverse dialling direction so Rotate slowly clockwise, the dial should come to a dead stop after 0 and before 90 provided everything above was done correctly. The lock is now open and the safe handle should turn. Some dials have a blank area after 0 and should stop close to 100.
If the lock has been fitted incorrectly or forced it may stop in a different place. If the dial keeps stopping or catching when turned in both directions leave the safe open and call us!
